Description

This easy Balsamic Glazed Chicken recipe delivers tender chicken breasts coated in a tangy and sweet balsamic glaze that caramelizes beautifully. Ready in under 30 minutes, it is a flavorful and healthy meal perfect for busy nights or casual dinners. With simple, fresh ingredients and aromatic herbs, this dish is satisfying, versatile, and loved by the whole family.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Glaze

  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar (natural)
  • 2 tablespoons honey (natural)
  • 2 garlic cloves, freshly minced
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (natural)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetarian Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Herbs and Garnishes

  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary or thyme leaves

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Start by patting the chicken breasts dry with paper towels to ensure a nice sear. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper and set aside while preparing the glaze.
  2. Make the Balsamic Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar (natural), honey (natural), minced garlic, Dijon mustard (natural), vegetarian Worcestershire sauce, and a drizzle of olive oil until combined into a luscious glaze.
  3. Sear the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5 to 6 minutes on each side until golden brown and almost cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside on a plate.
  4. Glaze and Simmer: Lower the heat to medium, pour the balsamic glaze mixture into the same skillet, and let it simmer for about 2 minutes, stirring frequently. Add the chicken back in and spoon the glaze over the top. Cover and cook for another 5 minutes so the chicken absorbs the flavors and the glaze thickens beautifully with the help of the natural gelling agent.
  5. Rest and Serve: Remove the chicken from the pan and let it rest for a couple of minutes to lock in the juices. Sprinkle fresh rosemary or thyme leaves over the top before serving to add a lovely herbal aroma and color contrast.

Notes

  • Bring chicken to room temperature before cooking for even cooking throughout.
  • Do not crowd the pan; leave space between chicken pieces to ensure a perfect sear and prevent steaming.
  • Use freshly minced garlic for a brighter, more vibrant flavor.
  • If the glaze becomes too thick, add a splash of water or grape juice to loosen it.
  • Let the chicken rest after cooking so juices redistribute and the meat stays moist.
